The unique events of 2020 have left many softball and baseball players without a place to play. Summer is a time to have fun with your family and friends. It is also a time to learn valuable life lessons. Rec League Indian (RLIN) has put together all the pieces for kids that want to have fun playing softball and baseball. Get all the details below.

RLIN Details

WHERE: All games played at Morsches Park, 1035 IN-205, Columbia City, IN 46725
WHEN: League begins June 15th and ends July 23rd. Softball games are targeted to be held on Monday and Wednesday. Baseball games are targeted to be held on Tuesday and Thursday.
WHO: Open to the general public from any commmunity for recreation level teams and individual players.
DEADLINE: Registrations will be taken until the league is full no matter the date or May 23rd, whichever occurs first.
Your game day(s) may vary depending on the total number of teams.
AGES: Softball 8u Coaches Pitch (7-8), 10u (9-10), 12u (11-12), 14u (13-14) - Age Cutoff January 1
AGES: Baseball 8u Coaches Pitch (7-8), 10u (9-10), 12u (11-12), 14u (13-14) - Age Cutoff May 1
Already formed baseball teams being added must be rec. only or prove designation USSSA class "A" or BPA "Bronze"
Already formed softball teams being added must be rec. only or prove designation USSSA class "C" or NSA "C"
$65 per player entry fee covers T-shirt, umpires, games, softballs or baseballs, fields and game tracking.
Entry fee must be paid by credit or debit card using the secure PayPal website after registration. No PayPal account required. No paper checks.
There will be NO entry fee refunds unless there are not enough players or coaches for a team.
Registrations are NOT accepted by phone or by fax.
Only one participant per online application. Teams can list all their players and pay for the whole team in one transaction.
Waiver MUST be agreed to in order to process application.
All participants must be self-insured, provide their own batting helmet and if desired face mask plus disinfecting items (wipes, hand sanitizers)

General Information

Park Rules and Features

No Alcohol/Drugs
No Abusive Language
All Dogs must be on a leash
No Hitting/soft toss into the fences at any location. Please do not climb on the fences.
No steal spikes on the portable mounds. Pitchers must wear tennis or turf shoes on the portable mounds.
Please clean up the dugout after you play and help maintain park appearance by using the trash cans provided.
Parking in designated areas only. Do not park on the grass.
Not responsible for lost or stolen items
Spectators will not be allowed to sit behind the backstop area between the dugouts on any diamond due to COVID-19.

Age Categories

Softball (Jan. 1) and baseball (May 1) cutoff date. Use the USSSA Age Calculator to determine your correct age group.

8u CP (Ages 7-8)

COVID-19

Please follow the recommendations from the State of Indiana, Governor of Indiana directives and the Indiana State Health Department guidelines.

Spectators should maintain Social Distancing- Spectators will not be allowed to sit behind the backstop area between the dugouts on any diamond.

Seating will be very limited due to COVID-19, please plan to bring your own chair.

Teams MUST clean their dugout at the end of each game.

Everyone entering the park, will hold harmless OnTurf Sports,City of Columbia City and Columbia City Parks from any responsibility from COVID-19 based on their participation in or being a spectator of the league.
